Data Science Courses

Welcome to the efl Data Science Courses

People working together and celebrating achievement

We, the efl - the Data Science Institute, offer introductory courses in Data Science for students of the Goethe University Frankfurt to train students in the basics of data analysis. For successful participation in the offered courses, course participants receive a certificate instead of ECTS points, which is issued by efl. The learning content is checked by means of a short test at the end of each course day.

The course program in this winter semester 2023/24 will start with an introductory course in Python  (30 October and 1 November 2023) and an introductory course in Data Science (3 November 2023). The participation in the Data Science course does not require the prior attendance of the introductory course in Python, as long as sufficient basic knowledge of Python is available. The registration is made online via a registration form, whereby the number of participants for each of the two courses is limited to 25. The registration deadline is 25 October 2023. The course is free of charge for students enrolled at a German university. In case you are not a student, you are required to pay a tuition fee of €60 for each course you are registering for.

In addition to teaching theoretical concepts of Python and Data Science, the courses focus on practical application and implementation in so-called coding sessions, in which data from the economic context serve as a basis.
